CINTEC Anchors Secure Banner

Customer:
State of Delaware
Division of Historical and Cultural Affairs

Application Date:
February, 1997

Application Situation:
Cavity wall with brick veneer

Problem:
The recessed entrance to the State Museum required a large banner. Because of the surface area and wind loads two cables were to be anchored to the outer walls. The walls had several cavities and traditional methods would not work.

Products:
255x20x20 CINTEC Stainless Steel Anchor with 40mm sock MIO internal thread injection bolts and 10 mm eye bolts Grade 304 and 316 Stainless Steel

Wall:
Cavity, one wythe of brick with CNW back wall, hollow interior

Application Method:
Holes were cored using a diamond water cooled bit.
Hole size was twice the diameter of the anchor. Anchors were installed with a threaded injection port less the eye bolts. An air operated cartridge injection gun was used to inject the Presstec grout. The grout was allowed to cure. The threaded injection ports were removed and the eye bolts installed
