People in Perspective
Dennis Lee
Technical Adviser
Dennis joined Cavity Lock Systems in 1991, and, in 1993, he was appointed Technical Adviser.

Dennis' function in the organisation is, as his title suggests, to provide the technical knowledge on the design, uses and installation techniques of the CINTEC anchor system. He is a liaison point for Structural Engineers who are involved in projects and need to know specific technical information regarding precise work. His particular role is in solving problems whether these difficulties involve the drilling techniques, the uses of grout, or training of installers. Dennis is the man who is there to show the solutions. He is a technical troubleshooter, this role puts Dennis into many tough and unusual situations: like freezing in Phorzeim in Bavaria; working in Australia in the Goben River National Park, where a l2 foot poisonous snake was a natural hazard; working on top of the Montreal Bank, at 10.30 pm, by torchlight watched constantly by armed Security guards. Dennis was one of the first to view the charred remains of the Windsor Castle fire, and installed test anchors to determine the integrity of the fire damaged stonework. Dennis was even called to Buckingham Palace to stitch the Royal washing machine to the floor.

"Perhaps the most hairy moments" Dennis recalls "was when we anchored the cladding at the Newark County Jail in New Jersey. We installed the anchors from a swing stage outside the jail, inside we could clearly hear the hardened criminals shouting abuse to us as we worked!"

Dennis is also involved in R and D installations, work concentrating on the uses and testing of the CINTEC anchor. When not travelling round the world, Dennis lives in Newport, with his wife and 2 children.
